THE LAST TIME I CRIED WAS 27 YEARS AGO…

“I have just read Tammie’s [exJW] story and it made me cry. I never cry about anything and quite well known as a hard guy. I have served with the special forces in the UK and used to hate God. I even used to pray, saying how much I hated him. I know how evil this is and I am very ashamed of it, but at least you can understand that I am used to seeing bad things and am very rarely shaken.

I studied with JW’s for a while and thought it was all great until a lot of them lied to me during a business deal that cost me thousands of pounds. When I started to research the people who owed me money, one of them is still an elder. I discovered that he was having an affair and that a lot of people knew about it. I noticed how many people were leading double lives and claiming to have the truth. My sister is still in, but I stay away from them all. I do feel so lost. I find it hard to pray because I cannot forgive myself for the things I have done, and know I do not deserve the forgiveness of the Most High.

I just wanted to thank you for a great site and to ask you to extend my thanks to Tammie for her bravery in telling her story. It has really struck a cord with me, but I do not know why. It was the line: “I didn’t understand about the angels rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents but that must have been what happened.
